Youth First Community of Promise

Neighborhood News

Mayorsl Prayer Breakfast was B.B.A.!

B.B.A. was the theme for the 14th Annual
Mayors' Prayer Breakfast. For those of
you who weren't able. to attend-B.BA
stands for "Beautiful, Brilliant, and
Amazing!" ~ Not only do all kids need to
hear they are B.BA, but ~hey need to
hear that they are loved. Many children
don't hear those words very often. What
a difference it can make in their lives!

Approximately 320 guests came to hear
our guest speaker Neil Eerdmans. His
message was a great reminder of just
how wonderful the youth in our lives and
community are. Neil's passion and
'enthusiasm energized us and gave us a
new perspective our roles in the lives of
children.

Ramsey Ice Skating Party

The Ramsey Parks Department has been
maintaining an ice skating rink next to the
neighborhood center and over MEA, we
had our first ice skating party. The City
provided a fire pit and we roasted hot
dogs and marshmallows with the kids.

"ALL kids need to know that
they are B.B.A."

Beautiful, Brilliant and
Amazing

~Neil Eerdmans

Thank you all for the generous donations
that we received that morning and
continue to get. Through the breakfast
fund raising, we raised almost $10,000 to
support the work of Youth First. Your
support is necessary and greatly
appreciated!

If you were not able to donate at the
Mayors' Prayer Breakfast please consider'
pledging a donation to Youth First at this
time. A contribution card is included in
our. newsletter. As our organization
reaches more kids in the three
communities we need to look to the
community to support our programs.
Please feel free to contact us with any
questions or to tour any of our sites.

Many of the youth do not have ice skates
and were happy when we had a few
donated for them to use~ We still need
skates (any size and style)! Please
consider donating your old skates.

YOUTH FI RST
COMMUNITY
OF PROMISE
, ~~'~~~~A:R~~~~~

Youth First Community of Promise
operates under the direction and
administration of the Northwest
Anoka County Community
Consortium (NW ACCq.

Active partners with Anoka County,
the Cities of Andover,Anoka, &
Ramsey, and Anoka Hennepin
School District #11.

Board of Directors"

, '. ..Anoko County __; : ,;'
Did< langiAnoka County Commissioner'

AnokCl-Henneoin- Schoof[)i~ri~\);i,
Dione.
