<br />Exhibit A <br /> <br />The following is a summary of the current ordinance as it relates to the proposed changes to City Code <br />Section 9.15 'Towers': <br /> <br />1. Towers are currently allowed in the following areas: <br /> <br />. Parcels at least ten (10) acres in size within the Tower Overlay District as shown on the <br />official Zoning Map <br />. All church, park, government, school, utility, and institutional sites at least ten (10) acres <br />in size <br />o Common sites include parks and water towers <br />· Water Tower #1 has multiple antennas <br />· Water Tower #2 has no antennas <br />o Requirements if located in park <br />· Parks adjacent to commercial or industrial use <br />. Parks in residential zones that are a minimum often (10) acres in size <br />. Antennas may be attached to existing parks in residential zones. that are <br />not a minimum of ten (10) acres in size provided that the antenna does <br />not extend more than fifteen (15) feet above the highest point of the <br />structure or tower <br /> <br />2. Tower Construction, C9-Location, Setback, and Height requirements: <br /> <br />. Construction <br />o Shall be of monopole design unless the City Council determines alternative <br />design is more preferable <br />. Co-Location <br />o All towers are required to allow for co-location in order to allow other providers <br />the ability to use existing towers rather than constructing an additional tower in <br />the same area provided such an opportunity exists <br />o Commercial wireless communication towers (cell phone towers) shall be of <br />monopole design unless City Council determines an alternative is more suitable <br />. Setbacks <br />o No part of any tower including guyed wires may extend over public right of way, <br />public street, highway, sidewalk, or recreation trail <br />o Must meet setbacks of underlying zoning district if in business district <br />o Must meet setbacks of underlying zoning district if in industrial district except <br />that towers may encroach into side or rear setback area, provided that the side or <br />rear setback abuts another non-residential zoned property and the tower does not <br />encroach upon any easements <br />o Towers in residential districts shall maintain a minimum setback equal to 1.5 <br />times the height of the tower from any lot line <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Height <br />o <br />o <br />o <br /> <br />Residential = 120 feet <br />Commercial = 165 feet <br />Industrial = 1 75 feet <br /> <br />-4- <br />
