<br />Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #08-05-077 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING POLLING LOCATION FOR WARD 3 PRECINCT 1 <br />AT RAMSEY MUNICIPAL CENTER (ALEXANDER RAMSEY ROOM), 7550 <br />SUNWOOD DRIVE NW <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council adopted a resolution in 2002 establishing the <br />polling places for all wards and precincts within the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City previously used Fire Station No.1, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard <br />NW, as a polling location for both Ward 3 Precinct 1 and Ward 2 Precinct 1; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the new Municipal Center is available to serve as a polling location for <br />Ward 3 Precinct 1 which would help alleviate congestion in one polling place; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ward 2 Precinct 1 will remain at Fire Station No.1; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, State law requires that all polling locations for the 2008 elections be <br />established no later than May 30, 2008. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the City of Ramsey, in compliance with the terms and provisions of Minnesota <br />Statutes Section 204B.16, the polling location for Ward 3 Precinct 1 is hereby established <br />at Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, for 2008 and all future elections. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Strommen, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Strommen <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Olson <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Resolution #08-05-077 <br />Page 1 of2 <br />
