Background:
On May 27, 2007 a petition was received requesting the paving of Ute Street from 179 Lane to
a distance approximately 1000 feet to the north (terminating at the cul de sac). Attached to this
case is a copy of this petition along with a figure illustrating the parcels which would be
benefitted from the proposed project. The properties supporting this petition have also been
identified on this figure. The City Clerk has verified that the petition has the required minimum
35% support from benefitted property owners. Staff will verify the current ownerships of all
properties so that proper future notice can be made.
A portion of the project costs are anticipated to be special assessed to the benefitted properties in
accordance with current City policies for such improvements. The next step would be the
preparation of a feasibility study describing the scope of the improvements to be made along
with their costs and financing. This project would be anticipated no earlier than the 2009
construction season.
Recommendation:
RECEIVE PETITION FOR THE BITUMINOUS PAVING OF
UTE STREET NORTH OF 179TH LANE
By Steven Jankowski, City Engineer
It is the recommendation of staff that it be directed to prepare a feasibility study for the
bituminous paving of Ute Street north of 179 Lane and that it then be reviewed by the Public
Works Committee.
Action:
Motion to direct staff to prepare a feasibility study for the bituminous paving of Chameleon
Street located within the Shawn Acres subdivision.
Reviewed by:
City Administrator
Director of Public Works/Principal City Engineer
Public Works Street Supervisor
City Clerk
City Attorney
CC: 06/10/08
