PC CASE #
CONSIDER A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE
RESIGNATION OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY BOARD MEMBER
Background
Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager
a
In a letter dated May 5, 2008, Mr. Wayne Harvey resigned from the Environmental
Policy Board. The letter of resignation indicated that the resignation was effective
immediately.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends that the resignation of Mr. Harvey be accepted and that staff be
directed to begin a recruitment process to fill the vacancy now or that the vacancy be
filled later in the year as part of the annual recruitment process. The annual Board and
Commission recruitment process begins in late September and terms begin January 1 of
the New Year.
Funding Source
The approximate cost to advertise vacancies in the Anoka Union and Shopper is $200.
There is no additional cost to advertise the vacancies in the Ramsey Resident, on QCTV
or on the City's website. The funds for the Anoka Union and Shopper ad would be taken
from the General Notice and Public Information portion of the 2008 General Fund
Budget.
Committee Action
Make a motion recommending that the City Council accept the resignation, of Mr. Harvey
and that staff be directed to begin a recruitment process to fill the vacancy now or that the
vacancy be filled later in the year as part of the annual recruitment process.
City Council Action
Consider making a motion to accept the resignations of Mr. Harvey and directing staff to
begin the recruitment process to fill the vacancy now or in September, as part of the
annual recruitment process.
Reviewed By:
Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator
CC: June 10 , 2008
