She expressed opposition to the <br />convenien~ [stol~. <br />Resident atig~l 10 - 178th Avenue N.W. - stated he was contacted about this rezoning by word of <br />mouth and tl~at if the Planning and Zoning Commission approves this, he would petition others <br />who don't Ii,ow iWhat's being proposed. <br /> <br />Zoning Adw4ms0'ator Frohk stated that the law is that residents within 350' of the property receive <br />public notiaeiof the request. She added that the property owner petitioned for the rezoning, not the <br />Planning a .nd!Zo0ing Commission. <br />Don Olson, ~794g) Baugh Street N.W. - stated he is not in favor of the convenience store and also <br />questioned ~.e natification process. He added he does not see this area as a good building site for <br />commerciaI~ecabse only about an acre of the property is actually buildable due to a County ditch <br />and wetland[si H~ expressed concern about devaluation of his property because of the store also. <br /> <br />James ElvinO, 9lB1 - 178th Avenue N.W. - stated that his back yard butts up to the back of the <br />subject prope~t~ y ~nd he is against the proposed rezoning. He stated the property is totally wetland <br />and said he dix~sti't want to have his view be a convenience store when he goes out to his backyard <br />to have a bhrb. ecl~e. He also expressed concern about the traffic and added there are already too <br />many other e~nv~nience, stores nearby; therefore, this one is certainly not needed in a residential <br />area. ~ <br /> <br />Ron Kuhn, ~rn$ide Trail Development Company - stated he appreciates the residents concerns <br />and added labatt h!s company still has lots for sale across the street in Bums and he wouldn't do <br />anything to ~' '.wre0k" the chance to sell these lots to people to build homes on. He stated a strip mall <br />is not beingfiiuilt~and it would be years and years, if ever, before someone would ever fill in the <br />land and bu!l~t mbre on it.
