Case # 3

EDA Business Meetings / July Sth Meeting Follow-up
By: Sean Sullivan, Economic Development Coordinator

Background:

The EDA hosted a presentation from Brandon Norrell, Territory Division Manager for Buxton
on July 8th. This meeting was an initial attempt to bring together some key businesses and the
EDA to work toward a common goal of helping the city grow. This case is a placeholder to
discuss reaction to the meeting and to move forward with the Buxton Study.

The cost of the study is $70,000. Staff feels that a public/private partnership that works together
to increase the business potential for Ramsey will meet goals of both parties. The benefits
received from the Buxton Study and having an ongoing business forum are important to the
success of the community. Financial participation by both entities will lead to a successful
partnership,

Funding Source:

N/A

Recommendation:

None

EDA Action:

Based on discussion

EDA: 7.10.0S

-13-
