CASE 4 Li <br />RECEIVE PETITION FOR IP 08-34 THE BITUMINOUS PAVING OF 151 AVENUE, <br />152 AVENUE, AND FLUORINE STREET LOCATED IN SECTION 24 <br />By: Steven Jankowski, City Engineer <br />Background; <br />On June 9, 2008 a petition was received requesting the paving of 151 Avenue, 152 nd Avenue, <br />and Fluorine Street which are all contiguous to one another and are located in Section 24 west of <br />TH47. Attached to this case is a copy of this petition along with a figure illustrating the parcels <br />which would be benefitted from the proposed project. The properties supporting this petition <br />have also been identified on this figure. The City Clerk has verified that the petition has the <br />required minimum 35% support from benefitted property owners. <br />A portion of the project costs are anticipated to be special assessed to the benefitted properties in <br />accordance with current City policies for such improvements, The next step would be the <br />preparation of a feasibility study describing the scope of the improvements to be made along <br />with their costs and financing. Construction of this project would be anticipated no earlier than <br />spring of 2009. <br />Recommendation: <br />It is the recommendation of staff that it be directed to prepare a feasibility study for the <br />bituminous paving of 151 Avenue, 152 Avenue, and Fluorine Street and that it be reviewed by <br />the Public Works Committee. <br />Funding Source: <br />The feasibility study will be prepared by the Engineering Department with the required funding <br />corning from its annual budget. <br />Action: <br />Motion to recommend staff be directed to prepare a feasibility study for the bituminous paving <br />of 151' Avenue, 152 Avenue, and Fluorine Street and that it be reviewed by the Public Works <br />Committee. <br />Reviewed by: <br />Acting City Administrator <br />—179— <br />
