CASE 4 Li RECEIVE PETITION FOR IP 08-34 THE BITUMINOUS PAVING OF 151 AVENUE, 152 AVENUE, AND FLUORINE STREET LOCATED IN SECTION 24 By: Steven Jankowski, City Engineer Background; On June 9, 2008 a petition was received requesting the paving of 151 Avenue, 152 nd Avenue, and Fluorine Street which are all contiguous to one another and are located in Section 24 west of TH47. Attached to this case is a copy of this petition along with a figure illustrating the parcels which would be benefitted from the proposed project. The properties supporting this petition have also been identified on this figure. The City Clerk has verified that the petition has the required minimum 35% support from benefitted property owners. A portion of the project costs are anticipated to be special assessed to the benefitted properties in accordance with current City policies for such improvements, The next step would be the preparation of a feasibility study describing the scope of the improvements to be made along with their costs and financing. Construction of this project would be anticipated no earlier than spring of 2009. Recommendation: It is the recommendation of staff that it be directed to prepare a feasibility study for the bituminous paving of 151 Avenue, 152 Avenue, and Fluorine Street and that it be reviewed by the Public Works Committee. Funding Source: The feasibility study will be prepared by the Engineering Department with the required funding corning from its annual budget. Action: Motion to recommend staff be directed to prepare a feasibility study for the bituminous paving of 151' Avenue, 152 Avenue, and Fluorine Street and that it be reviewed by the Public Works Committee.
