-200- <br />DAY OF THE ELECTION — Monday, July 21 2008 <br />8:00 a,m. — 12:00 p.m. <br />• Screening Board (S13) — A screening board will be responsible for screening all applicants <br />who wish to be participating members of the GEARS Committee, The SB will submit no <br />more than three candidates from each of the six geographic districts; Anoka, Dcilwta, North <br />Hennepin, South Hennepin, Ramsey and Washington. <br />• The Screening Board is made up of mayors of cities with the largest populations from the six <br />designated geographic areas who are not running for the GEARS committee. <br />• 0 Anoka — TBA <br />o Dakota — Burnsville: Mayor Elizabeth Kautz <br />o Hennepin — South: Bloomington: Mayor Gene Winsted & North: Brooklyn Center <br />Tim Willson <br />o Ramsey — Maplewood: Mayor Diana Long.rie <br />o 'ashington — Cottage Grove: Mayor Sandra Shiely <br />12:00 7 1:30 — Lunch (additional screening time if necessary and S13 deliberation) <br />'om the Lea ue Buil linu to the Ccoitob <br />Transition <br />2:00 — 3:00 p,m, <br />• Election of Gears Members — All elected officials wili report to room 123 of the State <br />Capitol. There will. be a brief 'welcome and introduction followed by all cities breaking up into <br />groups by counties, <br />o Room 107 - Ramsey County City Delegation <br />o Room 112 Dakota County City Delegation <br />o Room 15 — Anoka County City Delegation <br />o Room 123 — North and South Hennepin County City Delegation <br />o Room 318 — Washington County City Delegation <br />• City Deliberation — The chosen candidates will be introduced and allowed to give a brief . <br />introduction and rationale for his/her appointment.
