~ Over the past couple of months, the Ramsey3 Working Group has been working with the Open Space Technology (OST) comments to categorize them into groups and develop a vision statement. As part of this process, they are creating a checklist of core obj ectives/values and are exploring alternative methods of zoning. This hardworking group of volunteers has been meeting in an effort to improve the development process and increase the avenues for public participation. At the April 14 meeting, the working group, which had broken into sub-groups, reviewed everyone's worlc They determined areas of consensus and worl(ed on putting everything into the following Development Ramsey3 Working Group components: Residential Develop- ment, Commercial Development, Transportation, Environmental, Public Input/Vision, and Administra- tion/Zoning. At the May 7 meeting, the group worked on developing value statements for each of the compo- nents. They did this individually and then came together as a group to again look for similarities. The value statements were then grouped togeth- er and prioritized to work towards the vision statement. On May 19, the Ramsey3 Working Group continued to work towards a vision statement that best fits the characteristics of the city of Ramsey and what they wanted for the future. The group worked to refine wording, better organize the com- ments, and produce common themes from these comments. Worl( will continue in the next few weel(s to add to the overarching themes gleaned from the Ramsey3 process to date. On June 19, a community- wide public meeting (OST session) was held to review the vision state- ment, core objectives and zoning alternatives brought forth by the Ramsey3 Working Group. Habitat Partnership of Northwest Anoka County Seeking Volunteers for Ramsey Build Days ~ Twin Cities ~ Habitat ~, , , for Humanltys BuUding Comm.un[ty Habitat Partnership of Northwest Anoka County (HPAC) is excited to announce their Community Build days for 2008. HPAC's mem- bership consists of representatives of local congregations, businesses, and area residents who have joined forces with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity to help with fundrais- ing, community engagement, and volunteer recruitment in northwest Anoka County. HPAC is sponsoring seven (7) work camps in Ramsey and Anoka on the following dates: Ramsey: 7252 149thAvenue N.W. June 16-20 July 21-25 August 18-22 August 25-29 September 22-26 September 29-0ctober 3 Anoka: 1540 Franklin Lane July 14-18 HPAC is looking for volun- teers of all sl(illlevels and abilities to perform general construction, provide lunches, act as team-leaders, and host the sites. No current construction skills? No worries. Training is pro- vided. The proj ect will be supervised - start to finish - by an experienced site supervisor from Twin Cities Habitat staff.
