Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #08-07-x:XX <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE ORDINANCE T DING SECTION 5.232 <br />(ALARM SYSTEMS) OF THE CITY CODE AND <br />(ALARM SYSTEMS) <br />WHEREAS, at the July 8, 2008 regular City Council meeting, staff introduced an <br />ordinance to replace Section 7.82 of Ramsey City Code that regulates alarm systems <br />within the City, requiring a user alarm permit for false. alarms. <br />WHEREAS, in the interest of public safety, a penalty for excessive alarms <br />received by the police and fire departments will be imposed. T'he current process <br />consisting of a "user alarm permit" is being replaced with the administrative civil penalty. <br />The Schedule of Rates, Fees and Charges will be amended to reflect the administrative <br />civil penalties. <br />NOW THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED BY .THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF NIINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) Motion to adopt Ordinance #08-XX repealing Chapter 7 of City Code, Section 82. <br />2) Motion to adopt Ordinance #08-XX amending Chapter 5 of City Code, adding <br />Section 23 -Alarm Systems. <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by, <br />Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />-147- <br />
