• Towers must still be designed to accommodate three users <br />• Towers will not be allowed to be constructed in the Critical River Overlay District or <br />Town Center Zoning Districts; however, antennas .will be allowed to be mounted on <br />existing structures in these areas <br />• Towers and antennas will not be allowed to be constructed in the H-1 Highway Business <br />District; this area is reserved for future Highway 10 alignment and construction of towers <br />• would result in added relocation costs <br />• Towers will be allowed to be constructed the Public/Quasi-Public Zoning District <br />The Planning Commission met on July 10, 2008 to hold a public hearing on the proposed <br />amendments. Two property owners spoke at the public hearing and. requested to be removed <br />from the overlay district. The parcels include: <br />• 8702 181St Avenue NW <br />• i 6926 Bison Street NW <br />These parcels represent only those parcels requesting to be removed in writing or on record at the <br />public hearing. <br />Furthermore, the Planning Commission requested that clarification be included in regards to <br />setbacks in commercial and industrial parcels adjacent to residential parcels. Staff has included <br />that "When adjacent to a residential district, .commercial and industrial parcels must maintain a <br />setback of the height of the tower plus ten feet, or the underlying zoning district, whichever is <br />greater." <br />Funding Source: <br />The proposed code revision is being processed as part of regular staff duties. <br />Recommendation: <br />The Planning Commission recommended City Council adopt Ordinance #08-_ amending <br />Section 9.15 Towers and clarifying setbacks in commercial and industrial parcels adjacent to <br />residential parcels. <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to introduce ordinance amending City Code Section 9.15 Towers. <br />-or- <br />Motion to deny the proposed ordinance amending City Code Section 9.15 Towers. <br />=157- <br />
