CASE # <br />CONSIDERATION OF AWARDING BID FOR IP 08-35 EAST RAMSEY <br />PARKWAY SUNWOOD DRIVE STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS <br />By: Leonard Linton, Civil Engineer II <br />Background: <br />The Ramsey Town Center project was approved in 2003. Responsibility for construction <br />of the improvements was divided between the City and Ramsey Town Center, LLC. <br />Construction of East Ramsey Parkway was the responsibility of the developer. The road <br />was constructed in 2004. ,The bituminous wear course was due to be applied in 2005. <br />The developer was also responsible for construction of the Meandering Commons park <br />improvements which is in between the lanes of the parkway., The Developer requested <br />that the wear course be delayed to prevent damage during construction of the park. The <br />wear course is vital for the overall .strength the roadway. Staff recommended installation <br />of the wear course utilizing the Ramsey Town Center Letter of Credit. <br />The City Council authorized advertising for bids at the June 24, 2008 meeting. The <br />project was advertised and bids were received on July 16, 2008. ', 149,585.50 <br />Funding Source: ', <br />The funding source will be the Ramsey Town Center Letter of Credit. <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends awarding the bid for construction of IP 08-35 East Ramsey Parkway <br />Bituminous Wear Course to Hardrives, Inc.',in the amount of $ 122,274.95. <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to award the bid for IP 08-35 East Ramsey Parkway Bituminous Wear Course to <br />Hardrives, Inc. in the amount of $ 122,274.95. <br />Reviewed by: <br />-241- <br />
