CASE # l <br />ACCEPT: PLANS AND. SPECIFICATIONS FOR CITY PROJECT #08-36, 144TH AVENUE NW <br />EXTENSION INTO THE SUNFISH LAKE BUSINESS PARK, AND AUTHORIZE FOR BID <br />By: Tim Himmer, Assistant City Engineer <br />..Background: <br />The City is working with the property owner at 14310 Sunfish Lake Boulevard (Waltek Inc.) to gain an <br />easement for another access into the business park. Anew road extension of 144`h Avenue NW is <br />proposed between Sunfish Lake Boulevard and Azurite Street NW. This new road will serve as access <br />to the existing Waltek business, a City parcel directly to the north that currently has limited access, and <br />provide another route for the business park. On June 24, 2008 City Council authorized the preparation <br />of plans and specifications, and the retention of Hakanson Anderson Associates to provide consulting <br />services for the project. Plans and specifications are now completed and staff would like to begin the <br />bidding process in an effort to get this project constructed this fall. It is estimated that bids will be <br />received on August 19`h, and brought before Council to request award of contract on August 26`" . <br />Funding.: <br />The project is proposed to be financed with TIF funds from District 10. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends accepting the plans and specification for City project #08-36 and authorizing it for <br />bid. <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to accept the plans and specifications for City project #08-36, 144`h Avenue NW extension into <br />the Sunfish Lake Business Park, and authorize for bid. <br />Reviewed by: <br />Public Works Director/Principal Engineer. <br />CC: 7/22/08 <br />-245- <br />
