<br />13)Adopt Resolution #08-08-139 Authorizing the Payment to the Killer Hayseeds for <br />Entertainment Services Related to Happy Days <br />14) Report from Personnel Committee <br />1) Consider Authorization to Hire a Fire Inspector <br />15) Report from Public Works Committee <br />1) Consider Authorization to Expand Municipal Center Conference Room - Council voted <br />to ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee and directed staff to <br />acquire competitive bids to compare costs and to research the usage of meeting rooms, <br />including Fire 1. <br />2) Consider Request for Stop or Yield Sign at the Intersection of Hedgehog Street and 155th <br />Lane - Council voted to ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee <br />which was that the Yield signs be posted on the north and south legs of the intersection <br />of Hedgehog and 155th Lane, that the Public Works Department clear the vegetation <br />located within the right-of-way, and that contact be made with comer property owners to <br />review additional sight line improvements that should be made. <br />3) Consider Establishing an Assessment Policy for MSA Street Construction Projects - <br />Council voted to ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee and <br />consider establishing an assessment policy for MSA street construction projects be <br />discussed by the full Council, at a work session. <br />4) Consider Establishing Topsoil Requirements in New Subdivisions - Council voted to <br />ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee and direct staff to prepare an <br />ordinance modifying City Code to require a minimum of four (4) inches of topsoil <br />meeting the MnDOT specifications 3877C, premium topsoil borrow in landscaped areas <br />of all new developments, and work in conjunction with the EPB on other ways of water <br />conservation methods that could be used for the whole community and possible ways to <br />give residents incentive to use them. <br />5) Consider 2008 Storm Sewer Improvements - Council voted to ratify the recommendation <br />of the Public Works Committee and direct staff to prepare plans and specifications for <br />the 2008 Storm Water Improvement Project which would include the improvements at <br />6941 - 152nd Avenue; Llama Street and 163rd Avenue; and 6043 Highwal #10; and that <br />staff continue to work with the residents of the Kamacite Street and 148 Lane/Avenue <br />project to determine the desired alternative and to proceed with the implementation of <br />that alternative. <br />6) Periodic Inspection of Parking Ramp - Council voted to ratify the recommendation of <br />the Public Works Committee and direct staff to write a policy for the periodic inspection <br />of the City owned parking ramps be prepared; that staff be directed to investigate <br />possible funding sources for the inspections and direct staff to investigate the possibility <br />of engineering staff becoming certified to conduct the inspections. <br />7) Cost of Concrete Streets - For informational purposes only - no action necessary. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
