<br />Subd.3. Public Safety Board. The primary objective of the Public Safety <br />B,oard::.isi . to: review' administrative' and! or operational-matters relative to' pubtic,' s'afety' and' to' <br />advise the City Council of policy matters relevant to the public safety functions in Ramsey, The <br />duties of the Public Safety Board shall be to: <br /> <br />a. Provide administrative advice to the Fire Chief and Police Chief, promote <br />communication within the Fire Department and the Police Department and <br />between the two departments and other community leaders. <br /> <br />b. Advise the City Council in the selection of the Fire' Chief and Police Chief. <br /> <br />, . <br />c. Review operations of the Fire Department and Police Departinent and <br />advise the Fire Chief and Police Chief in determining possible areas of <br />improvements. <br /> <br />d. Review and advise regarding rules and regulations for the Fire Department <br />and Police Department. <br /> <br />Subd.5. Board of Adjustment and Appeals. The primary objective of the <br />Board of Adjustments and Appeals to review and approve/deny variances from the provisions of <br />the Zoning Chapter of the City Code where there is strict enforcement would cause undue <br />hardship because of circumstances unique to the individual property under consideration. The <br />Planning and Zoning Commission shall serve as the Board of Adjustment and Appeals. <br /> <br />Subd. 6. <br /> <br />Board of Appeals and Adjustments/Official Maps. <br /> <br />a. Objective. The primary objective of the Board of Appeals and <br />Adjustments/Official Maps is to consider appeals by owners of land who <br />have been denied a land use permit, zoning permit, approval for a building <br />on land or any other City action taken pursuant to City Code Section <br />9.20.32 entitled "Official Map" which may affect the landowner's land. <br />The appeal procedures shall be pursuant to"Minn. Stat. 462.359 and City <br />Code Section 9.20.32. <br /> <br />b. Membership and Term of Office. Notwithstanding Subsection 2.03.02, <br />Subd. 3. there shall be five (5) members of the Board of Appeals and <br />Adjustments/Official Maps who shall be appointed by the City's Mayor <br />for staggered four year terms. At least one of the members shall be a <br />current member of the Planning Commission. All other terms of Section <br />2.03 shall be applicable to the Board of Appeals and Adjustments/Official <br />Maps. <br /> <br />Subd.7. Environmental Quality Board. The primary objective of the <br />Ran1sey Environmental Quality Board shall be to review, consider, initiate and recommend to <br /> <br />7 <br />
