He stated that they do appreciate the new restrooms. He was
curious as he knew that they currently spray for mosquitoes and wondered if there was anything
they could do for ticks. He explained that recently a dog and a man developed limes disease
from ticks.

Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that they currently use Metro Mosquito Control for the
spraying.

Barry Bowen advised that if the paths were to be wood chipped and cleared a little more it would
help with the ticks. He thought that it could be a little more open, by clearing the dead trees. He
advised that he was concerned about the pond as it gets green in the summer and questioned if it
could be aerated. He was concerned that the animals drinking from the pond would get sick. He
also questioned if they could use a water blaster to remove the droppings from the ducks.

Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that there were some trees scheduled for removal to allow
for a better resident view of the park. He stated that they have not seen the blue green algae,

Park and Recreation Commission/July 10,2008
Page 1 of 8
