All types of structural inspection need to be performed by an engineer licensed to practice in the <br />State of Minnesota whose primary field of practice is structural or civil engineering. <br />Recommendations: <br />Staff recommends that it be directed to draft a written policy for the periodic inspection of the <br />City owned parking. ramps and that it be directed to investigate possible funding sources for <br />these inspections. <br />Financial Impact: <br />The cost for inspection might be expected to be between $8,000 for a basic Type I inspection up <br />to $15,000 depending on the types of testing undertaken with the more advanced inspection <br />types.
