<br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, July 29,2008, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed Kone <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Community Development Director Amber Miller <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:35 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Update on Rotary Memorial Project <br /> <br />Marty Fisher, Premier Commercial Properties and the Ramsey Rotary, thanked the Council for <br />giving him the time tonight to make his presentation. He explained that since the Premier <br />building explosion occurred near Highway 10 the Ramsey Rotary had wanted to put together <br />some type of memorial for the people involved. He advised that artist Glen Terry had been <br />working with the Ramsey Rotary for the past couple of years to develop something that would <br />not only fit the image and scene, but also be a proper remembrance. He advised that over the <br />course of the two years, Glen had sculpted a model to show the Council. He explained that the <br />purpose of the meeting tonight was to show the plans for the memorial to the Council and ask for <br />a site to place the memorial on. He stated that they would prefer to place the memorial on <br /> <br />City Council Work Session / July 29, 2008 <br />Page 1 of 15 <br />
