<br />CASE # <br /> <br />ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD A CONTRACT FOR CITY PROJECT 08-36, 144TH AVENUE <br />NW ROADWAY EXTENSION INTO THE SUNFISH LAKE BUSINESS PARK <br />By: Tim Rimmer, Assistant City Engineer <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />City staff is working with the property owner at 14310 Sunfish Lake Boulevard (Waltek, Inc.) to acquire <br />an additional access into the business park. A new road extension of 144tl1 AvenueNW is proposed <br />between Sunfish Lake Boulevard and Azurite Street NW. This new road will serve as access to the <br />existing WaItek site, a City parcel directly to the north that currently has limited access, and provide <br />another route for the business park. City Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications, <br />and the retention of Rakanson Anderson Associates to provide consulting services for the project on <br />June 24,2008. <br /> <br />On July 22,2008 City Council accepted the plans and specifications and authorized the project for bid. <br />The bids were opened on August 19,2008. There were 15 bids received, ranging from $262,276.74 to <br />$368,739.75.
