<br />
<br />The Ramsey Fire Department is looking for men
<br />and women who are at least 18 years of age, responsible,
<br />e.nthusiastic, and willing to serve their community at any
<br />tIme as firefighters. Firefighters respond to a variety of
<br />emergency and non-emergency events related to fires, haz-
<br />ardous materials, rescue, confined space rescue and water
<br />rescue. Firefighters are also responsible for fire inspection,
<br />investigation, and community education. The 2008 hourly
<br />rate is $12.50 for training, meetings and fire calls, plus
<br />benefits.
<br />These positions will provide fire services to the north-
<br />ern portion of the city of Ramsey and the city of Now then.
<br />To learn more, RSVP for the mandatory firefighter orienta-
<br />tion by calling Fire Department Secretary, Franny McNal-
<br />lan, at 763-433-4452 by August 22, 2008. The orientation
<br />will be held Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 6:00 pm
<br />- 8:00 pm at Fire Station #3 (19888 Nowthen Blvd NW,
<br />Nowthen, MN).

<br />October 11, 2008

<br />The Ramsey Fire Department in-
<br />vites you to attend its annual open house
<br />on Saturday, October 11, from 11 :00 am
<br />- 3 :00 pm. It will be held at Fire Station
<br />#1, located at 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey,
<br />MN. Come meet your local firefighters, check out the cool
<br />equipment, and see the "big red trucks". Stop by for a free
<br />lunch of hot dogs, chips and pop.
<br />This is a great opportunity to visit your fire department
<br />and get to meet the firefighters face to face. Activities
<br />will include demonstrations, safety tips, tours through the
<br />vehicles and fire station, and much more.

<br />If you have not pre-registered to vote as of August 20,
<br />2008, you can still register on Election Day at your poll-
<br />ing place. Voters registering on Election Day must provide
<br />proof of residence. Following are the authorized forms for
<br />proof of residence:
<br />A valid Minnesota driver's license or learner's permit
<br />( or receipt for either) showing correct/current address
<br />in the precinct. An expired driver's license is NOT
<br />considered a valid ID.
<br />Tribal ID.
<br />A valid Minnesota identification card (or receipt) show-
<br />ing correct/current address in precinct. An expired ID
<br />card is NOT considered a valid ID.
<br />u.S. passport with utility bill.
<br />u.S. military photo ID card with utility bill.
<br />If the Minnesota license, Tribal ID or MN State ID has
<br />a former address, voters may bring a current utility bill
<br />(due within 30 days of the election) in the voter's name
<br />showing the current address in the precinct, along with
<br />a photo ID. The utility bill must be one of the follow-
<br />ing: gas, electric, telephone, cable TV, cell phone,
<br />water or sewer services, or rent statement with itemized
<br />utilities. Photo ID must be one of the following: MN
<br />Driver's license, MN ID card, US passport, US military
<br />photo ID, Tribal ID or MN student photo ID.
<br />A Notice of Late Registration showing the address of
<br />the voter in the precinct. The voter receives this notice
<br />from Anoka County if they registered fewer than 21
<br />days prior to the election. The voter may present this
<br />notice to the election judges as a valid proof of resi-
<br />dence.
<br />A current student fee statement that contains the
<br />student's valid address in the precinct and a picture
<br />identification card. Note: There are no such campuses
<br />in Anoka County.
<br />Voters may also register the day of the election if a
<br />registered voter in the precinct vouches as a witness
<br />for you. An oath/voucher card must be signed by the
<br />person vouching for the voter and by an election judge.

<br />Registered voters who move within the same precinct
<br />can simply complete a new voter registration card. Contact
