<br />and non-refundable application fee provided that the sign complies with all applicable laws and <br />regulations of the City. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. When a permit is denied, written notice shall be provided to the <br />applicant along with a brief statement of the reasons for denial. The Zoning Administrator or <br />Building Official may suspend or revoke an issued permit for any false statement or <br />misrepresentation of fact in the application. <br /> <br />9.12.19 <br /> <br />Refunds <br /> <br />Subd. 1. If an issued permit is withdrawn by the applicant within ninety (90) <br />days of issuance, and if no inspections have been made and no work authorized by the permit has <br />been performed, fifty percent (50%) of the permit fee may be refunded to the applicant. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. A permit issued by the Zoning Administrator becomes null and void if <br />work is suspended or abandoned or not completed within six (6) months of issuance, but may be <br />reinstated with an additional payment of one-half of the original fee. <br /> <br />Subd. 3. Any sign installed or placed on any parcel prior to receipt of a permit, <br />the specified permit fee shall be doubled. However, the payment of the doubled fee shall not <br />relieve any person of any other requirement or penalties prescribed in this Section. <br /> <br />9.12.20 <br /> <br />Administration <br /> <br />Subd. 1. The Zoning Administrator shall process applications for permits. The <br />Building Official is empowered, upon presentation of proper credentials, to enter or inspect any <br />building, structure, or parcel in the City for the purpose of inspection of a sign and its structural <br />and electrical connections to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and ordinances. <br /> <br />9.12.21 <br /> <br />Violations <br /> <br />Subd. 1. When, in the opinion of the Zoning Administrator, a violation of the <br />Code exists, the Zoning Administrator shall issue a written order to either the owner of the sign, <br />or the owner of the property, or tenant leasing the property, on which the sign is placed. The <br />order shall specify those sections of the Code involved, describe the violation and shall direct <br />that the violation be corrected within five (5) days from the date of the order, unless otherwise <br />specified by the Zoning Administrator. If the violation is not corrected, the violation will be <br />penalized through the administrative citation or removal, whichever is appropriate. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. If the Zoning Administrator or Building Official finds that a sign is <br />abandoned or is structurally, or electrically defective, or in any way endangers the public, the <br />Zoning Administrator or Building Official shall issue a written order to the owner of the sign and <br />occupant of the premises stating the nature of the violation and requiring repair or removal of the <br />sign within sixty (60) days of the date of the order. <br />
