Economic Development
Coordinator Sullivan requested feedback from the Board on the July 8th meeting, and discussion
on how to handle the dissemination of information. He indicated it was suggested that there be
consideration of selling marketing packets in addition to garnering support from the businesses
on the front end.

Member Strommen arrived at 7:35 a.m.

Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan stated he believes that the Buxton Study would be
a public document. However, specific marketing packets could likely be sold to interested
businesses; marketing packets would be specific to each company. The City Attorney will be
providing a ruling on what constitutes public information. Economic Development Coordinator
Sullivan requested input on whether the Board is interested in charging for the marketing packets
and when the order for the Study should be placed.

There was discussion on the businesses that participated in the July 8th meeting and businesses
that have expressed interest in participating in the Buxton Study.

Member Kiefer suggested businesses that participate on the front end of the Study be considered
members and receive a discount on purchasing market packets.

Member Strommen noted it should be considered that there is the potential of receiving orders
for marketing packets beyond the five per month included with the Study. It should be
determined what the cost would be to order beyond the five marketing packets to ensure costs are
being covered.

Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan suggested a minimum membership fee of $1,000,
with fees for marketing packets of $1 ,000 for members and $2,000 for non-members.

Motion by Member Strommen, seconded by Member Kiefer, to direct staff to structure
participation in the Buxton Study as follows: 1) $1,000 membership fee to parties interested in
participating up front; 2) fees for marketing packets of $1,000 for members and $2,000 for non-
members.

Motion carried.
