Sylvia Frolik <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council to order at 7:05 <br />p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilmember Dehen. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION ON NORTHERN STARS BALL BY BARB WINFIELD OF <br />THE ANOKA-HENNEPIN EDUCATION FOUNDATION <br /> <br />Ms. Winfield stated that she was here to invite the Council and Ramsey residents to a <br />party. She stated that this year's theme is Hooray for Hollywood for the Northern Stars <br />Ball and will be held on October 11, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown <br />Minneapolis. She stated that this event has been going on for 14 years, the first 13 years <br />were done in conjunction with the Anoka Technical College Foundation; however, they <br />decided to pursue other fundraising efforts this year. She stated that this event is a major <br />source of funding for grants for talented kids and gave examples of the type of activities <br />these grants cover. She stated that the meal is fantastic and there will be lots of fun music <br />by Coon Rapids High School big band and orchestra and there will be after dinner/dance <br />music by Jay Watkins Band.
