<br />2009 proposed tax levy in the amount of $9,554,086 and to schedule the City of Ramsey's initial <br />budget public hearing on Monday, December 1, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. and a reconvene date (if <br />necessary) on Monday, December 8, 2008 at 6:00 p.m.; and Adopt Resolution #08-09-176 <br />adopting the 2009 "Proposed" General Fund Budget as presented utilizing the proposed tax levy. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Gamec and Councilmembers Strommen, Look, Dehen, <br />Jeffrey, and Olson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Elvig. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he wanted to remind the public that this is just the preliminary budget, <br />not the final budget. He stated that if people see these figures in the next few weeks, he would <br />like people to know that the Council is still reviewing the budget and looking for additional cuts. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Canvass the Ballot <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reminded residents that the Canvassing of the Ballot will take place Wednesday, <br />September 10,2008 at 5:30 p.m. in the Lake Itasca room. <br /> <br />Happy Days <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reiterated that Happy Days events are coming up this weekend and noted that the <br />parade will be Saturday, September 13,2008 at 3:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Ramsey Elementary School's Back to School Night <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated that the Ramsey Elementary School held their back to school <br />picnic earlier tonight and expected 1,400 people. He stated that he wanted to thank the fire <br />fighters and police officers who were there working with the kids. <br /> <br />Primary Election <br /> <br />Councilmember Olson asked residents not to forget to vote in the Primary Election Tuesday, <br />September 9, 2008. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Look, to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the City Council adjourned at 7:54 p.m. <br /> <br />City Council / September 8, 2008 <br />Page 9 of 10 <br />
