Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #08-06-106 RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTIAL PAYMENT TO TEAM EARTHWORKS INC. FOR PROJECT 06-33 THE EXCAVATION OF CONTAMINATED SOIL AT THE FORMER ST PAUL TERMINAL PROPERTY WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council approved the plans and specifications and the advertisement for bids for the above-referenced work on September 26, 2006; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the excavation of contaminated soil bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on November 8, 2006; and WHEREAS, this project will be financed through a grant from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency in the amount of $295,000, and is also eligible for funding from TIF District No 2. WHEREAS, Public Works Director/Principal Engineer Brian Olson has inspected the completed work and recommends partial pay No 1 to Team Earthworks, Inc. in the amount of $117,839.37; and WHEREAS, City Engineer Steve Jankowski has inspected the completed work and recommends Final Pay No 2 to Team Earthworks, Inc. in the amount of $20,309.57; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the City Council hereby authorizes partial payment to Team Earthworks, Inc. for Improvement Project #06-33 in the amount of$20,309.57. 2) That the City Council hereby accepts the project and authorizes the Mayor or City Administrator to sign the release form for this payment. 3) That the total amount of this payment is not included in resolutions approving payment of bills for the date of June 24, 2008. 4) That the City of Ramsey Finance Department will be provided a signed copy of this resolution.
