<br />Councilmember Strommen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #08-08-150 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED ASSESSMENT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #08-05 (OVERLAY GOLDEN EAGLE ESTATES & <br />TROTT BROOK RIDGE) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by a resolution passed by the Council on August 26, 2008, the City Clerk <br />was directed to prepare a proposed assessment ofthe cost of the overlay on Improvement Project <br />08-05. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Clerk has notified the Council that such proposed assessment has been <br />completed and filed in her office for public inspection; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed project costs and assessments are as follows: <br /> <br />Estimated total cost of project <br /> <br />$260,438 <br /> <br />Estimated total assessment <br /> <br />$130,219 <br /> <br />Estimated assessment per unit <br />(1 O-year term) <br /> <br />$1,415.43 <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1. A hearing shall be held on Tuesday, the 23rd day of September, 2008 at Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW at 7:00 p.m. to pass upon such proposed <br />assessment and at such time and place all persons owning property affected by such <br />improvement will be given an opportunity to be heard with reference to such assessment. <br />2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a notice of the hearing on the proposed <br />assessment to be published once in the official newspaper at least two weeks prior to the <br />hearing, and shall state in the notice the total cost of the improvement. She shall also <br />cause mailed notice to be given to the owner of each parcel described in the assessment <br />roll not less than two weeks prior to the hearings. <br />3. The owner of any property so assessed may, at any time prior to certification of the <br />assessment to the county auditor, pay the whole of the assessment on such property. No <br />interest shall be charged if the entire assessment is paid by November 7, 2008. He/she <br />may at any time thereafter, pay to the County the entire amount of the assessment <br />remaining unpaid, with interest accrued to December 31 of the year in which such <br />payment is made. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember Jeffrey and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #08-08-150 <br />Page 1 of2 <br />
