There are two major sourc:es of p<:ltentlallead exposure, lead <br />paint and lead piping, In building construction. The City is eligible for all points <br />within this category If planning policies are In place that require that 'lead- <br />bearing substances are not used in any exposed surface of a dwelling unit! child <br />care facility, school, or recreational facility used by children. <br /> <br />CURRENT ACHIEVEMENT <br /> <br />(TOTAL PO.iNTS=7) <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey Building Division of the Community Development <br />Department has officially adopted the Minnesota State Building Code as the <br />official building code for the City of Ramsey through a perpetual clause. <br />Ramsey CIty Code States: <br /> <br />8.01.01 Buildln8 Code <br />The Minnesota State Building Code, all adopted by the Commissioner of <br />Administration pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 16B.59 to 1613.75, <br />Including all of the amendments, rules and regulations established. adopted <br />and published from time to time by the Minnesota Commissioner of <br />Administration, through the Buil,ding Codes and Standards Division is hereby <br />adopted by reference with the exception of the optional chapters. The <br />Minnesota State Building Code is hereby Incorporated into this ordinance as if <br />fully set out herein. <br /> <br />8.01.02 Application, Administration, and Enforcement <br />The application, administration, and enforcement of the code shall be In <br />accordance with Minnesota State Building Code. The code shall be enforced <br />within the extraterritorial limits permitted by Minnrasota Statutras, 1613.62, <br />subdivision 1. when so established by this ordinance. <br /> <br />ThE! 6uildlna Department of the City shall be the enforcing agency. The code <br />shall be enforced by the Minnesota Certified Building Official, l;lesllnated by the <br />City to administer the code (Mlnnesot0 stiltute 1613.65) subdivision 1. <br /> <br />The Minnesota State Building Code does t,ot allow lead substances on exposed <br />surfaces.
