<br />Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #0~-08-140 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING AND RECEIVING THE MCKNIGHT GRANT NO. <br />05-1237 FINAL REPORT, AND A COMMUNITY VISION AND VALUES STAEMENT - A <br />COLLABORATIVE EFFORT OF THE RAMSEY3 STEERING COMMITTEE, RAMSEY3 <br />WORKING GROUP, AND COMMUNITY RESIDENTS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 2005 the Ramsey3 Steering Committee applied for and obtained a $50,000 <br />grant from the McKnight Foundation for the purposes of exploring innovative methods to achieve <br />community participation and planning efforts in charting the City's future course; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey3 Steering Committee organized a series of four (4) educational <br />forums for the residents and policymakers of the City that focused on four (4) critical issues facing <br />metropolitan communities: transportation, innovative zoning, regional intersections, and community <br />ecology; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey3 Steering Committee organized a series of eleven (11) community <br />Open Space Technology (OST) sessions to allow residents to create their own working sessions around <br />themes that they have deemed important to the community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey3 Steering Committee worked collaboratively with the Ramsey3 <br />Working Group of residents and stakeholders to refine the OST -based comments into a City vision and <br />values statements; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the activities and outcomes of the Ramsey3 initiative are documented in a Final <br />Report to the McKnight Foundation, in accordance with the grant obligations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey3 Steering Committee desires to present the Final Report, Community <br />Vision and Values Statements to City Council for community planning purposes. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1. That the City Council respectfully receives the McKnight Grant No. 05-1237 Final Report <br />as prepared by the Ramsey3 Steering Committee. <br /> <br />2. That the City Council extends its gratitude to the Ramsey residents that recognized the <br />unique opportunity and volunteered many hours - to participate in the Open Space <br />Technology sessions to define the issues that are important to the future of this community. <br /> <br />3. That the City Council commends the Ramsey3 Working Group for their willingness to <br />accept the final challenge from the Ramsey3 Steering Committee and process the <br />information from the OST sessions into the City's Vision and Supporting Values <br />Statements that will serve as the City's framework for the future. <br />
