Citizen Input
There was none.
Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy, to close the public hearing.
Motion Carried. Voting 'Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Van Scoy, Brauer, Cleveland,
Hunt, Devine, and Rogers. Voting No: - None. Absent: None.
The public hearing closed at 7:09 p.m.
Commission Business
Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 7:09
p.m.
Commissioner Cleveland wondered how many tenants will be displayed on the sign.
Associate Planner Dalnes stated the exact number of tenants would be up to the sign as
constructed, The total square footage of the sign space is what is being considered.
Commissioner Levine asked if the tenant signs would be permanent or electronic only.
Associate Planner Dalnes stated it was possible.
Mr. Doug Sailor, Park Midwest Commercial Real Estate, stated the sign itself is designed for
visibility to primary names. Their intent is not to have a bunch of small signs. The tenants will
contribute to the costs to be on the sign. Colburn's will get top billing and will control the
electronic sign from the site. The other panels will have the primary national names within the
center. The intent of the sign is for people from Highway 10 to see what is in the shopping
center.
Commissioner Cleveland asked if the City, is considering any signage that will announce the
Town Center and if so will the signage conflict with the location of this proposed sign.
Associate Planner Dalnes stated there has been some discussion about Ramsey Town Signage,
The City has talked a little bit about doing some signage on Sunwood Drive and Armstrong.
They are also doing "Welcome to the City of Ramsey" signage and are working with the County
on that.
Mr. Sailor stated they are willing to work with the City on any additional signage for the Town
Center.
Commissioner Van Scoy asked if the electronic display met their guidelines.
-284—
