Case #.~

PUBLIC HEARING AND LEVY OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #99-12 (IGUANA STREET N.W. PAVING)
By: Steve Jankowski, City Engineer

Background:

This project was petitioned by residents of Iguana Street N.W. between 153rd Avenue and
151st Lane N.W. The project entails the grading and paving of the existing dirt street
with four inches of Class 5 and 1½ inches of bituminous. The estimated cost of the
project in the feasibility study was $3,379 for each of the 9.5 benefited residents. The
resident proposed to be charged the half charge appeared at the public heating to question
the appropriateness of the assessment. Upon research, it was determined that this
property had been assessed a full shared of the installation of 151st Lane N.W. (the
second frontage on the property). Thus, this property was dropped from the final
assessment role for this project. The final project costs have been tabulated and have
been determined to be $3,019.38 for each of the nine benefited properties.

Council Action:

Motion to adopt Resolution #00-09-XXX adopting assessments for Improvement Project
#99-12.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
Director o f Public Works

CC: 09/26/00

-101-
