Case

PUBLIC HEARING AND LEVY OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR THE 2000
STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
By: Steve Jankowski, City Engineer

Background:

The 2000 Street Maintenance Pro,am consisted of five individual projects coveting 9.32
miles of street. The individual projects are as follows:

· 00-01 Flintwood Hills Addition
· 00-02 Ramsey Terrace
· 00-03 Rum Acre Estates
· 00-04 Crow's Unplatted (Section 9, 10, 15 and 16 west of County Road
#56)
· 00-05 Reilley Estates

Each of these subdivision received a one and one-half inch of bituminous overlay. Two
projects, #00-01 and 00-05 had storm sewer projects constructed prior to the overlay
project.

The final quantities of the bituminous overlay work had been compiled or estimated (the
shouldering work on all five projects and the bitum/nous quantities on #00-05). The
City's policy is to assess 50% of the total cost of the overlay work to the benefited
property owners. The cost of the storm sewer work associated with projects #00-01 and
#00-05 is being completely funded through the City's newly created storm water utility.
The proposed assessment for each buildable property, each unit is as follows:

· 00-01 $784.10 *
· 00-02 $575.76
· 00-03 $477.42
· 00-04 $540.43
· 00-05 $669.90

* - Property owner receives one-half share in accordance with comer lot policy.

Council Action:

Motion to adopt Resolution #00-09-XXX through #00-0% XXX adopting assessments
for Improvement Projects #00-01 through #00-05.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
Director of Public Works

CC: 09/26/00

-60-
