Park and Recreation Commission Park's Capital Improvement - 2003 <br /> <br />-268- <br /> <br />Sunfish Lake Shore side Park: <br /> <br />This land encompasses twvo-thirds of the west shore of Sunfish Lake and is currently <br />owned by Waste Management of Minnesota. Acquisition is proposed as an addition to <br />the park system which will result in neighborhood lake side recreation for the <br />approximate population center in Ramsey. The site could facilitate year round recreation <br />as well as providing for the extension of a trail along Sunfish Lake Boulevard. <br /> <br />County Road #83 Trail: <br /> <br />This project would involve trail construction from the northern, terminus of the Lake <br />Itasca trail, south to 153rd Avenue N.W. within the road right-of-way of Armstrong <br />Boulevard. At this point, the trail would traverse westerly in the fight-of-way of 153~d <br />Avenue N.W. and connect to the south and'of the Lake Itasca trail, near the lake. <br />Benefits include; <br />· Provides several mile "loop" that is currently.not available as part of the Lake Itasca <br /> trail. <br />· Connects the neighborhoods along County Road #83 tO the above trail system. <br />· Connects the above trails to Central Park. <br /> <br />· Connect~ the trail being constructed as part of 153rd/155th Avenue N.W. to this <br /> project. <br />· Removes pedestrians from 153rd Avenue N.W. and County Road #83 both of which <br /> are busy roadways. <br /> <br />Titterud Park Play Equipment Replacement: <br /> <br />The City has remained on a schedule of replacing existing playstructures with ones that <br />meet the Consumer Products Safety Commission guidelines for safety. This also results <br />in a contemporary playground with more play value. The park receives a fair number of <br />drive-up play equipment users because of its visibility. <br /> <br /> <br />
