PERSONNEL COMMITTEE CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councilmember Susan E. Anderson Also Present: City Administrator James Norman Human Resources Manager Rhonda Heryla Councilmember Margaret Connolly Councilmember Terry Hendriksen CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Anderson called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:35 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT None. COMMITTEE BUSINESS Case #1: Authorize Hiring of Part Time Public Safety Aide Human Resources Manager Heryla stated that, following Council authorization on April 25, 2000, staff began the process to hire a part-time Public Safety Aide to work in conjunction with Laurie Swadner, current Public Safety Aide, to provide a combined service of up to twenty hours per week. The position was posted internally on April 28, 2000, and one letter of interest with a resume was received from Chandra Kreyer who has worked as a volunteer with Ramsey for almost two years. She has an educational background in law enforcement and has worked with Laurie Swadner. Police Chief Gustafson and Sergeant Dwyer met with and recommend hiring Chandra Kreyer effective May 10, 20001 at $11.92 per hour contingent upon successful completion of background investigations of driving records and criminal histories, reference checks, and physical examinations, and subject to a six month probationary period Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to recommend that City Council authorize staff' to hire Chandra Kreyer as a part-time Public Safety Aide to work up to twenty hours per week at a salary of $11.92 per hour, contingent upon successful completion of Personnel Committee/May 9, 2000 Page 1 of 2 -131-
