This 0.7 mile
stretch of roadway is the last remaining segment of a cross-city east/west MSA roadway corridor
of over six miles. Plans and specifications have been updated and are ready for bidding. The
project is scheduled for completion in 2000: The last remaining issue to be resolved is
acquisition of the right-of-way. He noted there are eight parcels, which need to be acquired to
facilitate this project. (Parcel one is not an acquisition, but rather is a surplus piece of property
that would be created from the relocation of the 153~ Avenue alignment). City Engineer
Jankowski noted that, at this time, the City has acquired parcels five and six from D.A. Smith
and parcel eight from Richard Andrus. He noted in regard to parcel five it is incumbent to get
the road built or they will have another party involved that could be upset with the project, as a

Public Works Committee/May 16, 2000
-15-
