ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY AND PLANNING COMMISSIONS Kim Moore-Sykes, Assistant City Administrator Background: In response to several vacancies on the Planning, Charter and Economic Development commissions, Staff placed a notice in the City's legal newspaper advising residents of these vacancies. Letters of interest were received from sixteen residents by the advertised deadline and interviews were scheduled on May 16, 2000 and May 31, 2000. The interview panel consisted of Councilmembers and all candidates were asked the same questions. It was the consensus of the interview panel to recommend the following appointments: Planning Commission Ken Peterson Michael Reeve as First Alternate Bob Griffiths as Second Alternate Economic Development Commission John LeTourneau Julie Blaha Cindi Wirz as an Alternate Charter Commission Barry Childs Hannah LaMere Marguerite Henke Kathy Rosenow Kathleen Sweet as an Alternate Observations: The City Administrator contacted Ken Peterson about his interest in being appointed to the Planning Commission rather than return to the Charter Commission. Mr. Peterson declined the offer to move to the Planning Commission. Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends that the approval of the proposed appointments with the exception of Ken Peterson's appointment to the Planning Commission.
