PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, March 28, 2000 at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Garnet <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James Norman <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Assistant City Administrator Kim Moore-Sykes <br />Human Resources Manager Rhonda Heryla <br />Councilmember Margaret Connolly <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Anderson called the regular meeting of the Personnel COmmittee to order at 4:55 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Receive Information about Resignation of Brian Swanson and Authorization <br />to Hire Full Time Public Works Maintenance Worker <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Heryla stated that at the Personnel Committee meeting on March 14, <br />2000, a motion was made recommending that City Council end Brian Swanson's probationary <br />period effective March 15, 2000. Shortly thereafter, on March 23, 2000, Mr. Swanson resigned <br />from his position as a full-time Public Works Maintenance Worker to accept a position in <br />Milaca. At the Personnel Committee meeting on January 11, 2000, a motion was made <br />recommending that City Council authorize staff to fill one Public Works Maintenance Worker <br />position and consequently staff has been accepting applications for this full-time position. <br />Roughly, twenty applications have been received so far. With Mr. Swanson's resignation, Public <br />Works now has a second vacant position. <br /> <br />Personnel Committee/March 28, 2000 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />-40- <br /> <br /> <br />
