<br />CASE # 5 <br /> <br />ADOPT ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7.61 <br />(CHARITABLE GAMBLING) OF CITY CODE <br />By: Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As Council will recall, revisions were made to the Charitable Gambling ordinance in 2007, one <br />of which requires that the physical site of the organization headquarters or the registered business <br />. office of the organization be located in the City of Ramsey (section 7.61.05 d). At the September <br />9th Work Session, Council discussed a request from Anoka Hockey to sell pull tabs at Jacob's <br />Tavern (now dba Penalty Box Bar and Grill) in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Based upon the work session discussion, Council directed staff to amend the code to allow <br />Anoka organizations with fifty percent (50%) or more of their members or participants being <br />Ramsey Residents to be allowed to apply for a premise permit to conduct charitable gambling in <br />Ramsey.
