<br />Mayor Gamec suggested. that it could be left like this and anew developer could replat it, if they <br />wanted. <br /> <br />Assistant City Engineer Himmer stated that the City wants to make sure the existing lot owners <br />out there get what they paid for, such as the boulevard trees. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey agrees and suggested that the City see what needs to be done on the <br />boulevard and come up with a number that everyone can agree to. .He stated that he also doesn't <br />think this will set a precedent. <br /> <br />Mr. Dorn stated that some people are bargain hunting and they don't want to have to wait for this <br />to be replatted. He stated that they have no problem adjusting the $133,000 if there .are <br />boulev~d improvements that still need to happen. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Miller stated that when staff talked about vacating the plat, <br />the intent was to give them more flexibility. She stated that it is zoned multi-family, not to <br />prevent them from being able to develop, but to better market it. <br /> <br />There was a Consensus of the Council to have Engineering check on what landscaping is still <br />needed for the boulevard and the amount and following this, agree with the proposal from 21 st <br />Century Bank. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated that from a cost perspective, the landscaping that could cost <br />$15,000 now could go up to $25,000. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that the housing market may increase also. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson asked if they feel comfortable that there will be a restrictive <br />covenant that these costs will be covered. ) <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen asked about the punch list items. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated that it is small things, like a manhole that wasn't raised up. <br />He stated that they have agreed that this will be completed. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that this is a work session, so the Council cannot vote, but it will come back <br />to the next Council meeting. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that this can be put on the Consent Agenda for the next meeting. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson asked what the timeline is for the completion of the trail. <br /> <br />Mr. Dorn stated that if they can be done this year, they will, depending on the weather, because <br />he thinks it will only take about a week of work. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session I October 7, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 14 <br /> <br />-23- <br />
