The following is a brief summary of actions taken in October that may be of <br />interest to the PlaQl1ing Commission: <br /> <br />Request for Extension for Comprehensive Plan Submittal. City Council authorized staff to submit a <br />request for an. extension to the adjacent agency review for the 2008 Comprehensive Plan Update until <br />May 29, 2008. . <br /> <br />TAG Machine. City Council approved the Site Plan and assistance package for TAG Machine. <br /> <br />- <br />Michels Property Minor Plan. Per request of the applicant, the request for final plat review of the <br />Michelsyroperty was tabled to work out an agreement for a trail easement. <br /> <br />lUP for Religious Assembly at Rum River Plaza. City Council approved the request for an !UP for three <br />years for Hope Fellowship to construct a religious assembly in Rum River Plaza. <br /> <br />Off Street Parking. City' Council approved the ordinance updating the Off Street Parking ordinance <br />related to operable; licensed, and insured vehicles to match Chapter 5 of City Code. <br /> <br />E-I and E-2 Performance Standards. City Council introduced the ordinance to amend the E-l and E-2 <br />Employment Districts to clarify surfacing requirements. <br /> <br />Sunfish Commons Sign CUP. City Council approved a request for a conditional use permit to exceed sign <br />requirements for Sunfish Commons. <br /> <br />Comprehensive Plan Update. On October 18, a visioning session to update the future land use map for <br />the 2008 Comprehensive Plan Update was completed. A Public Hearing IS scheduled for the November <br />Planning COJ:nmission. and a request to authorize distribution of the draft plan is scheduled. for later in <br />November. . <br /> <br />Abstentions and Conflict or'Interest. Per request of the Planning Commission, staff has investigated <br />the Planning Commission's role in terms of abstentions and conflict of interest. Per the City Attorney, all <br />rules that apply to City Council in regards to this matter also apply to the Planning Commission and <br />Board of Adjustment. <br /> <br />PC: 11.6.08 <br /> <br />65 <br />
