<br />Councilmember Olson asked if this will be rented back to Mr. Dubois. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that he isn't aware that it will be, because it is vacant property. <br />He stated that on several of these properties, there have been relocation costs, but as this is <br />vacant, there will not be these costs. He noted that the dollar amount in the motion should be <br />$380,700, so it reflects the additional settlement amount. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to enter into a Purchase <br />Agreement with Eugene DuBois for the purchase of a parcel of land located at 70XX Highway <br />10 NW, Ramsey, Minnesota, for a total purchase price of $380,700, which amount is to be <br />funded by a Metropolitan Council RALF loan. The PIN ofthe parcel is 34-32-25-22-0009. This <br />motion is contingent on formal approval by the Metropolitan Council approving the purchase <br />and the purchase price, and the City Attorney's final review of the Purchase Agreement's legal <br />terms. The legal description of the subject property is Lot 4, Block 1, Kovar Addition, Anoka <br />County, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Dehen, Olson, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Look. <br /> <br />Case #5: <br /> <br />Consider Amendment to Chapter 4 of the City Code by Adding a Section <br />Permitting Disconnection of City Water Services <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that last week, staff met to discuss the issue of City Water <br />services, as it relates to home foreclosures. He stated that staff is concerned about these homes <br />and are asking for more ability to shut off the water in an attempt to limit freezing water pipe <br />damage. He read aloud the proposed ordinance. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that he agrees with this, but he is concerned about item #7 because <br />it seems broad. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich suggested it could be left in and more information be brought back <br />between now and the adoption. <br /> <br />City Council / November 10,2008 <br />Page 10 of 12 <br />
