Councilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #91-12-274 RESOLUTION DECLARING A VACANCY ON THE RAMSEY CITY COUNCIL WHEREAS, Councilmember Richard Cich submitted a letter of resignation to the Mayor and Council at their November 26, 1991 City Council meeting; and WHEREAS, City Council formally accepted Mr. Cich's resignation at their December 17, 1991 meeting; and WHEREAS, Mr. Cich's resignation will become effective January 14, 1992; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.5 of the City Charter, a vacancy on the Ramsey City Council shall be declared; and WHEREAS, according to City Charter, City Council may, by a majority vote, appoint a successor to serve for the remainder of the term since there remains less than 365 days of the term; and WHEREAS, an article will be in the December issue of the Ramsey Newsletter informing residents of Mr. Cich's resignation and asking any interested persons wishing to be considered for the position to send a letter of interest to the City Administrator. NOW 1) THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY AMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: That the City Council hereby accepts Councilmember Cich's resignation, effective January 14, 1992. 2) That pursuant to Section 2.5 of the City Charter of the City of Ramsey, a vacancy is declared on the City Council. 3) That City Council may appoint a successor to serve for the remainder of the term. 4) That all persons wishing to be considered for the position will send a letter of interest to the City Administrator. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Cich and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gilbertson Councilmember Peterson Councilmember Cich Councilmember Beyer Councilmember Hardin and the following voted against the same: None
