Kycia and inflicted serious <br />injuries to the Kycias' dog. The dog had to be transported to the Coon Rapids Emergency <br />Veterinarian, where it received emergency services totaling $235.70. My client has previously <br />written you asking you to reimburse him for the cost of the veterinary bills. <br />Minn. Stat. § 347.01(a) provides: <br />Owners or keepers of any dog or dogs, that kill, wound, or worry any domestic <br />animal or animals, shall be jointly and severally liable for the owner of such <br />animal or animals for all damage done by such dog or dogs, without proving <br />notice to or knowledge by any such owner or keeper of such dog or dogs, that any <br />or either of them was mischievous or disposed to kill or worry any domestic <br />animal. <br />At this time, Mr. Kycia is seeking only to recover the veterinary bill resulting from the incident. <br />Please be advised that if full payment of the vet bill is not received within 10 days from the date <br />of this letter, we will be initiating legal action on Mr. Kycia's behalf to recover the amount of <br />that bill plus any other penalties and damages available under Chapter 347 of the Minnesota <br />statutes or other Minnesota law. <br />ALM:mr <br />Very truly yours, <br />Andrew L.
