Councilmember Elvig asked how much a local match would be.
Public Works Director Olson stated that it would probably be a 20% match, so close to $6
million.
Councilmember Jeffrey stated that he thinks it is a good idea that the City step back and take a
look at this because he has been at candidate's forums and there are a lot of candidates talking
about an overpass here.
Councilmember Elvig stated that he agrees because when you look at the Armstrong design now,
the whole west end design of Ramsey Town Center has changed, so he doesn't know what is
best. He noted that if opportunities started to blossom there for a large retail component, that
would also help drive these issues. He agrees that it may be a good time to step back and take a
closer look at the whole area before something moves forward.
Public Works Director Olson stated that there is no guarantee that the City will get money, but he
thinks the City can make a push to get preliminary design dollars and show progress in at least a
interchange design.
MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT
None
ADJOURNMENT
The Work Session of the City Council was adjourned at 6:52 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Kurds G.
