<br />Subsection 9.20.22 (B-2 Highway Business District) Subd. 5 (Standards) <br /> <br />2. The compliment of trees fulfilling the landscaping requirements <br />shall be not less than 25 percent deciduous and not less than 25 <br />percent coniferous. No more than 25% ofthe required plantings. <br />shall consist of ornament81 trees. <br /> <br />3. For every 35 feet of public road frontage, 1 overstory tree shall be . <br />planted on the private property .adjacent to the public road right of <br />way. <br /> <br />2. Topsoil. All. exposed ground areas of a site not occupied. by buildin~, <br />. parking or storage. excludin~ natural areas that are left undisturbed. shall be <br />covered with four (4) inches of topsoiL as defined in Section 9.02.. <br /> <br />~u. Sodding and Ground Cover. All areas not other wise improved in <br />accordance with approved site plans shall be finished With sodded up to the <br />edge of improved streets. Any alternative to the sod requirement shall require <br />City Council approval. . <br /> <br />J4. Irrigation. <br /> <br />a. All landscaping areas required under this section shall include <br />underground irrigation systeins. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />b. Exceptions include land'5cape natural areas that are left in i1 natural <br />stateundisturbed. <br /> <br />.42. Parking Lot Landscaping. ' All parking lots are required to provide <br />internal overstory tree plantings in an effort to shade parking surfaces and <br />provide visual relief.Plantings are required at the following minimum <br />schedule. The planting schedule is established to provide an acceptable <br />. n1lffiber of plantings that may be planted in regular symrIletrical patterns or <br />irregular clusters or groupings. <br /> <br />(a) 1 tree per every 10 parking spaces. <br /> <br />(b) Every overstory ,tree planting shall be proyided with a <br />planting area of 162 square feet. <br /> <br />(c) Acceptable ground cover materials include sod, mulch, and <br />other natural ground cover. Landscaping rock and plastic <br />uriderlayment is not allowed. <br /> <br />(d) All parking lot planting areas shall include underground <br />irrigation systems. <br /> <br />39 <br />
