The following is a brief summary of .actions taken in November that may be of <br />interest to ~he,PI81ming Commission: <br /> <br />E-.l and E-2 Performance Standards. CitY Council voted to table action on the ordinance to amend the E;., <br />1'- and, E-2 Employment Districts' to clarify surfacing requirements. Council directed . staff, to study <br />. includinglawfuI non-conforming rights to existing properties. <br /> <br />. . <br />qeode Home Occupation Permit and Interim Use Permit. City CounciI'voted to approve the H.O.P. and <br />I.U.P. to continue to operate Trent's Tree Service at 17725 BaughSfreet NW. The existip.gstructure is to <br />be removed within nine months of applying for' a building permit. Busiri~ss hours for the ,site will be <br />10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with louder operations restricted 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. <br />Monday through Saturday. :Use of the new structure will be limited to storage of vehicles unless flIe <br />. suppression is 'added; OutSide storage is to be completely screened :with an opaque fence restricted to <br />, 1,000 square ~eet and six-feet tall. ' ' ' <br /> <br />Olson Conditional Use Permit.. City Council approved the request for a conditional use permit'. to - <br />maintain ,a maximum of four dogs. A permanent fence is to be constructed, contiguous to the principle <br />structure: City C()unciI added that in the event a dog is removed the subject property, no replacement dog <br />will allowed except, upon fmding by the City, that there have been no complaints by the neighbors <br />objecting, to dogs, which complaints, can be substantiated by the City. In the event there is a substantiated <br />event, the City will cOllduct an additiOlial Public Hearing, in compliance with City's Conditional Use <br />~ermit process to determine if a fourth dog should be permitted on the Subject Property. <br /> <br />Comprehensive Pla~ Update. City Council authorized distribution of the Draft 2008 Comprehensive <br />Plan Updat~, contingent upon staff f1,lr1;her refming layout and gr8l1lffiatically Issues. The Draft Plan will <br />return to City Council on'December 9th p~ior to distribution. City Council ~lso authorized updates to the <br />Transportation Element as well arrthe Parks & Recreation/Open Space ~lement.. <br /> <br />Retire.ment of Assistant Community Development DirectorlHRA Executive Dir.ector. As the <br />PI~iming Cc;>mmission is aware, Sylvia ~rolik has 8lillounced her retirement, effective December 3 i, <br />,2008. The December Planning Commission marks h~r last Ramsey PI;mning CommiSSIon, and we will <br />miss her expertise and dedication, Sy~via has served as a great mentor to many staff members over the <br />years.
