Ramsey Police Department Monthly Report <br />October 2008 <br />Crime Prevention <br />1. Northwest Anoka County Community Consortium (NWACCC) Board Meeting - <br />Review monthly activities and financial reports for Youth First Community of Promise. <br />2. Youth First.- Finance meeting. <br />3. MN Juvenile Officers Association Planning Committee -Review of this year's annual <br />conference evaluations. Pre-planning for the next conference. <br />4. Child Passenger Safety -Instructor Meeting. Discuss upcoming technician training that <br />will be offered in January at SBM Fire. Part of a 3-person instructor team that will. <br />provide the national certification course to 151oca1 students. <br />5. Tobacco compliance checks -Officer Bluml conducted one-round of tobacco <br />compliance checks on all tobacco vendors in the city, with one failure (Sunfish Express). <br />However, it was found that Ol' Skool is selling tobacco without a license. Apparently <br />their old (new) manager in charge of licensing quit and never applied-for an application: <br />They were not cited for a failure, but applied for a license the day after the compliance <br />check when they were notified. Violation letter was sent. <br />6. Toward Zero Death Conference -Rochester, MN: Attended the conference and <br />received 4.5 CEU''s in Child Passenger Safety (CPS) training that is required to maintain <br />my CPS Instructor: status. <br />7. Blood Bourne Pathogens & Hazmat training -required. <br />8. Car-Seat Checks -conducted three individual car seat inspections at the police <br />department. <br />9. Safe Kids Anoka County -General meeting to discuss 2009 brochure including bike <br />helmet and car seat clinic schedule for the next year, safety camp date and conflicts. <br />General overview of monthly activities, budget and approval of purchases. <br />10. PACT Charter School -Ask the Expert: Officer Dixon manned a "safety" booth at the <br />school and provided bike and personal safety information to children in attendance. <br />Halloween safety brochures were also distributed. <br />3 <br />_g_ <br />
