CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 28, 1991 at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor James Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Glen Hardin <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator/Finance Officer Sandra Ashley Helling <br />City Attomey William Goodrich <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />City Engineer Steven Jankowski <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Richard Cich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson called the meeting to order at 7:37 p.m. and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the <br />Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Mr. Tim Smith stated he had requested a variance to the 200 feet of frontage requirement. His <br />property is just to the west of Trott Brook Estates. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik stated the Smith's have purchased property to build on and there is only 66 feet of <br />frontage. Their request for a variance was denied by the Board of Adjustment and the Board <br />recommended platting the property into a minor subdivision to provide for future street extension <br />and park dedication in return for the City waiving the paving requirement. <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowski stated that the City also has an interest in extending the trail system through the <br />Smith property. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to deny the appeal <br />and send this case back to the Planning and Zoning Commission for minor subdivision with an <br />easement for future extension of 171st Lane N.W. and waiving the requirement to improve the <br />road to City standards. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Mr. Smith was asked his opinion of this option to which he replied he had no <br />problem with it. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Beyer and Hardin. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Cich. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to approve the agenda, <br />amended as follows: <br /> <br />City Council/May 28, 1991 <br /> Page 3 of 13 <br /> <br /> <br />
