CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a meeting on Tuesday, June 25, 1991, at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor James Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Richard Cich <br />Councilmember Glen Hardin <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />City Attomey William Goodrich <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the <br />Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Mary Jo Sentyrz, Small World Daycare, was present to ask the City for financial support of <br />$25,000 for the past year and $25,000 for each year the adult bookstore remains in its present <br />location. She explained how the daycare business has declined since the opening of the book store <br />and since the daycare has supported the City through taxes, it's the City's turn to support the <br />daycare. <br /> <br />Joseph Sentyrz, Small World Daycare, was present and thanked the City Council for their logical <br />reduction of property valuation in the Riverside West Development. He also asked for financial <br />support in the amount of $50,000 so their business could remain operational. <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson empathized with the Sentyrz' and stated that the best the City Council can do is <br />to try to rectify the situation. <br /> <br />Mr. and Mrs. Sentyrz provided City Council with a written statement which are Attachments A and <br />B to these minutes. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich requested an Attorney/Client Closed Privileged meeting to discuss the <br />Welsh Property and present the status of condemnation in that lawsuit. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Cich to approve the agenda <br />as presented. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Cich, Beyer and <br />Hardin. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />City Council/June 25, 1991 <br /> Page 3 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
