<br />CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a Special City Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 13,2008, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern David E1vig <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Kurt Ulrich <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Police Chief Way <br />Ryan Ziff, Attorney with the League of Minnesota Cities <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Elvig called to order the Special City Council meeting at 5 :32 p.m. <br /> <br />POLICE VIDEO <br /> <br />Chief Way shared a video of an incident involving an officer and a driver who backed into a <br />squad car near McDuffs during a pursuit. He stated that the driver stated that the officer ran into <br />him but with the in-squad camera, they do not have to investigate his claims because it is clear <br />that the driver backed into the squad car. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Update on Sharp v. City of Ramsey Lawsuit <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich introduced Ryan Ziff, the attorney representing the City in this case and <br />suggested the Council move into a closed session. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to move the Special <br />City Council Meeting into a closed session. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Pro Tern Elvig and Councilmembers Jeffrey, Olson, Dehen, <br />Look and Strommen. Voting No: None.
